Mario Says 'Me & Pelle,' Fashion Spread & New Album By Njai Joszor | Posted on 01/10/09 | Filed Under: R&B News, Mario With the working title of his next album 'And Then There Was Me,' R&B singer and former Dancing With the Stars contestant Mario is ready for big things in 2009. In fact, Mario's kicked off 09' with designer Pelle Pelle's Spring collection. Mario will be the face for Pelle Pelle's European Spring/Summer 2009 campaign with various press shots for the campaign running throughout the next few months. Besides rocking the latest in Pelle Pelle designs, Mario is fast at work on the follow-up to 2007s "Go". While the rumored title for the album is "And Then There Was Me," Mario has hinted that the title may change for his effort which will reportedly have a single out within a few weeks. Describing the album as his "most personal album," Mario has hit the studio with Darkchild, Babyface, Polow Da Don, RedOne, Tricky Stewart & The-Dream, and Stargate. Mario Eyes March Release For Fourth Album Mario was in Atlanta earlier this week working with producer Tricky Stewart (pictured right) on his fourth studio album, set for a March 2009 release. The former “Dancing with the Stars” contestant has also been in the studio with Babyface, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, Stargate, KP & Malay, and Polow Da Don. Mario is calling this the “most personal, colossal album of his career.” It will combine an old school R&B influence with a modern pop sound. Well, can't wait for that one! :) |

 Yesterday, celebrities and prominent figures from coast to coast helped create the World’s largest shared reading experience in one day by reading one book, Don Freeman’s classic, CORDUROY, to aid the literacy crisis in the U.S. on Jumpstart’s Read for the Record Day with thousands of reading events happening simultaneously across the country. New York kicked off the event on the TODAY Show with spokespersons LL Cool J and Matt Lauer, Jesse McCartney, Greg Kinnear, Maria from Sesame Street and Mary-Louise Parker. Other events included Singer/Songwriter/Actress JoJo in Boston; Gabrielle Union in Los Angeles; and R&B Star Mario in Washington D.C.
